Two Massachusetts residents were killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 91 in Windsor early Friday morning, according to the Connecticut State Police.
A Nissan Altima driven by Dominque Loiselle, 25, of Brighton, Massachusetts was traveling the wrong way on I-91 north near Exit 38 just before 12:30 a.m. on Friday when the car hit a tractor-trailer head-on, state police said.
The Nissan came to an uncontrolled stop on the right shoulder of the highway, and the tractor-trailer was stopped in the area between the HOV lane and rest of the highway, state police said.
Loiselle and her passenger, James Bowen, 25, of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, sustained serious injuries and were pronounced dead on the scene. The 35-year-old tractor-trailer driver was transported to Hartford Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation. Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact Trooper Michael Dean at 860-534-1098.
