Two Hartford men have been charged with robbing a Hartford credit union in June, according to federal authorities.
Zaiqwan Fothergill 20, and Hakeem Robison, 27, are each charged with armed bank robbery and with using, carrying and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, according to federal authorities.
Authorities said in a statement that the indictment returned by a grand jury in Hartford on August 4 alleges that Fothergill and Robinson used a gun to commit a robbery of the Cencap Federal Credit Union at 2775 Main St. in Hartford on June 29, 2022.
Hartford police arrested the two men in Keney Park in Hartford shortly after the robbery and they have been in custody since then, the statement said.
Robinson pleaded not guilty in federal court Tuesday. Fothergill’s arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 6.
