Tom Parker’s widow Kelsey goes on ‘bittersweet’ first holiday since husband’s death

Tom Parker ‘s widow Kelsey has taken her first holiday since her husband sadly passed away.

Kelsey said the trip will be ‘bittersweet’, as she jets off to watch two of her friends get married as she admitted the weekend was going to be hard for her after her loss.

The Wanted singer Tom died at the age of 33 in March, less than two years after he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

Heartbreakingly, the dad-of-two had been asked to be an usher at this weekend’s wedding in Ireland, writes The Mirror.

Updating fans, the mum told her followers: “Hey guys, so I’ve just got to Ireland today.

“I’ve come to Ireland for my best friend’s wedding Ruth Ann and Ollie’s wedding.

“Yep it’s gonna be a really weird weekend for me, obviously it’s gonna be a bittersweet.

“Because obviously Ruth and Ollie are getting married, and I’m super happy for them, but Tom was meant to be here this weekend, he was meant to be an usher,” she explained.

“It’s gonna be the first event, wedding, that I’ve actually been to, without him. being with me.

“So yeah, this weekend is going to be a tough one.”

This month Kelsey appeared on the ITV daytime show Loose Women to give her first interview on life without her husband of four years.

Kelsey said she was ‘still in shock’ over Tom’s death but believes The Wanted star has been sending her signs from beyond the grave.

“He has given me so many signs… car alarms go off at four in the morning, I tell him ‘not at four in the morning Tom!

“I do talk to him. I think that’s a release as well. To talk to him, and I can feel him there.”

She went on: “I feel strong, I’m just getting through each day. I have the kids. I have to wake up each day, I have to get on with it, just trying to be as strong as possible in a really difficult situation and time for us all.”

Kelsey previously revealed that Tom’s bandmates have offered to help her raise children Aurelia, two, and Bodhi one, in his absence.

The 32-year-old said the band were a big support to Tom following his diagnosis, and have pledged to have input in his daughter and son’s life after he’s gone.

Jay McGuinness, 31, even moved into the family home during Tom’s final days to help care for the youngsters so that Kelsey could visit Tom in the hospice.

The mum told The Sun: “Jay stayed with us. He was upstairs in the loft room, just so I knew he was there.”

She said of Tom’s bandmates Jay, Max George (33), Siva Kaneswaran (33) and Nathan Sykes (29): “They’re a massive part of our lives and always have been. They are role models for the kids too, so I want them to come over and have their input in their lives and to tell them stories about their dad.”

Kelsey explained that the singers knew stories that she doesn’t about Tom and that Bodhi will want to know about his dad when he’s older.

She added: “They will always be there for us.”
