State Police issue warning – in jest of course

Yes, this post is in fun, as State Police said they issued a warning to the Easter Bunny, which allegedly was driving a Jeep through the town of Lisbon and sneaking through backyards to deliver baskets full of candy and hide Easter eggs.

The white-furred, pink-nosed bunny was behind the wheel of a Jeep on Route 169 South Burnham Highway when police received a report of an incident, according to a state police Facebook post.

The bunny, 450 years in age, told troopers he was “trying to get a jump start on the Easter holiday,” according to Connecticut State Police Troop E Montville.

The bunny promised troopers he wouldn’t “inter-fur with anymore police matters,” police said.

The Easter bunny did not have a proper solicitor’s permit and was issued a written warning, police said. Troopers posted about the incident on their Facebook page, wishing residents “an eggceptional Easter.”
