Sam Heughan teases new book Waypoints as he completes first draft

Outlander actor Sam Heughan has revealed that he has completed the first draft of his new memoir Waypoints, and fans are absolutely buzzing about it.

The 42-year-old earlier this year revealed that he would be bringing out ‘Waypoints’ to take fans on a personal journey of his life.

‘Waypoints’ will be published by Radar and will follow Sam as he makes his way along the West Highland Way to reflect on the personal waypoints that define him.

Revealing that he has hit a new milestone in his memoir journey, Sam posted a snap of himself, and captioned it: ” First draft of “Waypoints” is finished! Can’t wait to share with you all. Come on this journey with me, I promise it’ll be an epic adventure (and perhaps a little soggy, well, it is Scotland ).

And fans really could not contain their excitement.

One said: “Oooh, can’t wait to go in this journey with you. So excited Preordered my copy a long time ago..”

While one wrote: “I can’t wait to read your new book.”

Another commented: “I am getting more and more excited about your book with each day passing can’t wait to read all about your adventures.”

On the journey, Sam hikes 100miles from his home to the base of the highest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis, and “attempts” to climb it.

Fitness fanatic Sam is no stranger to a challenge and is looking forward to sharing this new adventure with his followers.

He added: “Waypoints is a memoir with a difference. I wanted to tell the stories and share the experiences that have shaped me, but to do that I needed to challenge myself and spend some time in my own company, away from the distractions of everyday life. And for me there’s no better place to reflect than in the wild Scottish Highlands.”

Back in June last year, the Outlander actor and his co-star Graham McTavish announced a follow-up to their incredibly popular Clandlands book.

The book, the Clanlands Almanac, much like their first book, follows their adventures around Scotland.

The two Scottish actors wrote their original piece as a companion to hit show Men in Kilts during the first lockdown, after they were forced to take a break in filming.
