Melting Pot is a festival of four on the floor that sees all hands on decks

Light that fire, dig out the electronic ingredients and throw them in the Melting Pot.

Yep, that festival of four on the floor was back with a loud – but incredibly funky – bang on Glasgow‘s Southside last weekend.

The Queen’s Park Recreation played host to Melting Pot and Heverlee, one of the city’s longest-running club nights.

It again showcased some of Scotland’s most talented music acts with the emphasis more on Rolands than rhythm guitars.

Saturday served up Optimo Espacio, a devilish DJing duo that were celebrating 25 years together. JD Twitch and JG Wilkes’ set almost took the roof off the Big Top tent as it heaved and pulsated to the beat.

The lads were joined in the tent by Free Love who conjured a brilliantly fun and energising live set that had echoes of 80s electro.

Then came the Sunday that saw the Hacienda’s legendary DJ Greg Wilson take to the decks, headlining in a disco inferno that burned the dancefloor as Manchester was brought to Mount Florida.

The Heverlee Village curated by Electric Shores featured some of the best DJs and artists from Glasgow including Nightwave , Rebecca Vasmant , Junglehussi b2b Plantainchipps , Shakara , Polka Dot Disco Club , KTAB and Jay Gunning .

All in all it was a weekend to remember.
