Hartford man, previously convicted of murder, sentenced to 27 years in prison in a child pornography case – Hartford Courant

A Hartford man, who previously had been convicted of murder, was sentenced to 27 years in prison Monday on a child pornography charge.

Ronald Daniel, 52, was accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year old child , photographing the assaults and later posting the images on an Internet site popular with pedophiles.

Federal prosecutors said Daniel gained he trust of the victim and assaulted her while ostensibly taking her out for a treat. He is accused of twice driving the victim to a secluded spot, committing sexual assaults and threatening to kill the victim if she told anyone.

Daniel was previously convicted of murder after shooting a drug dealer in the head and neck with a sawed off shotgun following a payment dispute, federal prosecutors said.

Daniel was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley for producing child pornography.
