Electrical fire damages three-family home in West Hartford – Hartford Courant

An electrical fire tore through all three floors of a multi-family home in West Hartford on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the home at 44 Lilley Road about 12:46 p.m., according to the West Hartford Fire Department.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported in the blaze, officials said.

West Hartford firefighters stayed on the scene for more than an hour to extinguish the flames and “were faced with challenging fire conditions” due to the home’s design, fire officials said.

The house suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage, fire officials said.

The department was assisted by several other fire departments, including the Hartford, UConn and New Britain fire departments. The West Hartford Police Department, Eversource and CNG utility crews were also on the scene.

The West Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office was investigating the cause of the fire and the American Red Cross was assisting displaced residents.
