Danielle Lloyd breaks silence on Wagatha Christie trial and says she’s ‘rooting for Coleen’

Danielle Lloyd has backed Coleen Rooney as she spoke out for the first time about the Wagatha Christie trial.

The former glamour model broke her silence on TalkTV on Thursday, and said she’d found it “heartbreaking” to be mentioned during the ongoing court case at London’s High Court.

Rebekah, 40, had testified last week that when sending agent Caroline Watt a message which labelled someone a “nasty b****” it “definitely wasn’t about Coleen.”

She had added she thought she had been referring to former Celebrity Big Brother star Danielle in the text instead.

Coleen’s lawyer David Sherborne QC also asked Vardy about a text in August 2019 where she told her agent “leak the Maldives stuff” in relation to what he labelled the “pregnant girl leak”.

Rebekah claimed her message related to a screen-shotted article in a magazine about Danielle “talking about her Maldives honeymoon and her unfortunate miscarriage”.

Vardy said the model was “not someone in my circle”, and said she disagreed with her about “gender selection”.

Breaking her silence on TalkTV, Danielle, 38, said: “It’s honestly it really upset me and, you know, it’s brought back very bad memories. One of the text messages was talking about a miscarriage that I’d had in the past.

“And I was really, really distraught at the time, and obviously for that to be brought up again, it’s just been heart-breaking for me.”

Danielle demonstrated she was in support of Coleen but added she didn’t think there would be any winners in the trial, which is thought to have total costs of between £2 – 3million.

She said: “I think in the grand scheme of things, I don’t think there are going to be any winners because they’re going to be out of pocket, you know, financially, both of them.

“And I don’t think we will actually ever get to the bottom of who actually leaked those stories. So whatever the outcome, obviously, hopefully both girls can just get on with their lives, but obviously I am rooting for Coleen.”

The high profile libel battle finished on Thursday after seven days of drama.

The case has been dubbed Wagatha Christie after Coleen’s months-long “sting operation” ended to find out who had been leaking stories from her private Instagram to the press.

Coleen would go on to claim Rebekah Vardy had been responsible, which led to the libel trial after Rebekah denied the allegations.

Vardy attended the end of the trial on Thursday while Coleen and Wayne were absent as they had jetted off to Dubai with their four sons.
