Bristol police locate dog shot by officer after it attacked a person – Hartford Courant

A dog that Bristol police shot after it attacked a person on French Street Friday has been captured and taken to a veterinarian for treatment, police said.

Officers found the dog involved in the attack after responding to the area of Morningside Drive early Saturday for a complaint of a roaming animal, police said. Officers were able to capture the dog, police said.

The Bristol Connecticut Police Department said officers had responded to French Street Friday morning after receiving a report of a “vicious dog” and found the dog “actively attacking an individual.”

The animal “had to be shot by an officer on scene.” police said in a statement. “The dog took off” and its injuries were unknown at that time.

Police described the dog is a medium brown pit bull.
