Authorities searching for missing boater in Candlewood Lake – Hartford Courant

Authorities plan to resume searching for a missing person at Candlewood Lake in Brookfield on Tuesday morning.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Conservation Police responded Sunday evening to a report of a person who went into the water from a boat and was missing, a spokesperson for DEEP said.

Officials from DEEP, the Danbury Fire Department, the Candlewood Lake Authority, the Brookfield Police Department, the Danbury Police Department and the Connecticut State Police dive team were all in the area Sunday, with patrol vessels and dive teams searching for the person.

They suspended their search about 11:45 p.m. Sunday and resumed Monday morning, officials said.

DEEP spokesman Will Healey reported just before 7 p.m. Monday that the search was again suspended, with plans to resume the search at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Boaters were advised to stay out of the way of the search operation.
